IT’S OFFICIAL!  ORDER IN COUNCIL APPROVED

TO FORM THE NEW TOWN OF DIAMOND VALLEY

The Towns of Black Diamond and Turner Valley have received the Order in Council to form the new Town of Diamond Valley, Alberta effective January 1, 2023.  The order is made by the Lieutenant Governor in Council as recommended my the Minister of Municipal Affairs under the authority of the Municipal Government Act.   

In February, 2022 the Councils of both Towns individually re-confirmed support of the proposed amalgamation by formal resolution. The joint amalgamation application was submitted to the Minister on September 14, 2021.
