Our community events are formed in celebration of our heritage and lifestyle, many of which are partnered with the Town of Turner Valley, our neighbor 3 km west on Highway 22, and currently comprising of the Diamond Valley Parade and Discovery Days in June; a Canada Day Celebration in conjunction with Diamond Music Fest; Black Diamond Car Show in July; and the Diamond Valley Christmas Market and Light-Up Black Diamond in December.

Though we are located just 35 minutes Southwest of Calgary, the pace here is several notches calmer than the near-by big city. Yet we are at a busy crossroads for a daily average of 5,000 to 10,000 vehicles. One traffic light and no parking meters here. You can park and walk the downtown with ease and will be pleasantly surprised at the friendly faces and the selection of treasures and goods you will find behind each storefront threshold of our "Boomtown" downtown business district. Behold, everything from artwork and hand-crafted home decor, gifts, specialty clothing and jewelry, local food producers and variety of restaurants to sample and services in automotive, health and beauty, pet and equine, home and garden, and grocery. Situated on the Cowboy Trail, on the bank of the Sheep River and on the doorstep to Kananaskis Country, surrounded by a wealth of agriculture, natural playgrounds and Rocky Mountain adventures, Black Diamond offers the best of western lifestyle and recreation. Horseback riding, fishing, camping, tubing, kayaking, hiking and wildlife.... all at our fingertips.
