Federal Election - Voter Information

The Town of Black Diamond does not take any part in operating the federal election, that is undertaken by Elections Canada.  The Elections Canada website (Foothills riding) provides all of the dates, times and locations where residents of Black Diamond (located in the Foothills riding) can cast their ballots.  If you do not live in the Town of Black Diamond, please visit the Elections Canada website to find out where the polling stations are for your residence.

Voting locations may vary by the (street/civic) address of the voters, and by date.  Please visit the Elections Canada website and enter your street/civic address to determine where and when you are able to vote.

Election Day:   October 21, 2019

Election Day voting for Black Diamond residents will take place at C. Ian McLaren School.  402 3 Street SW in Black Diamond.  The polls will be open from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm.

Advance voting dates:

  • Friday, October 11, 2019     9:00 am to 9:00 pm
  • Saturday, October 12, 2019     9:00 am to 9:00 pm
  • Sunday, October 13, 2019     9:00 am to 9:00 pm
  • Monday, October 14, 2019     9:00 am to 9:00 pm

Advance voting for Black Diamond residents is at the Flare & Derrick Community Centre.  131 Main Street North West in Turner Valley, behind the Sheep River Library.

Be sure that you have the required pieces of ID to vote before you leave for the polling station.  All of your options are outlined on the Elections Canada website (ID to Vote).  If you have questions about your identification, or other voter issues, please use the Elections Canada website to contact the Returning Officer for this area.
