The Town is participating in a Fortis Alberta Project in which the existing high pressure sodium street lights are being replaced with LED (light emitting diode) luminaires.
The wider distribution coverage of LED luminaires can reduce the amount of wattage needed and longer life can reduce replacement and maintenance costs.
It is estimated to have a life expectancy of 20 years.
The changeover will occur throughout the town between June 19 to 21 and June 27 to 30.
