Not all Requests for Information are required to be treated with the formality of a FOIPP Request. Much of the time, people are requesting information that is actually publicly available, and is sometimes already on our website. If you require information of any kind, please don't hesitate to call or email the Town Office for assistance. If the information is publicly available, you will be provided with the information, or we'll post it to the website if it needs to be more generally available. Paper copies of information may have applicable printing charges.
Sometimes, the request for information will be a little more involved. This may trigger the more formal FOIPP Request, in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. The process for this type of request is set out by the Act and its regulations. You can visit Service Alberta's FOIPP website to learn more about the FOIPP Act and it's processes, and to find all of the forms required to submit different types of FOIPP Requests to the Town of Black Diamond. If you are making a general information request, you may begin with the Request to Access Information Form.
If you have more questions about the FOIPP Request process, you can view Service Alberta's FOIPP FAQ's page, or you can email the FOIPP Coordinator for the Town of Black Diamond, or call the Town Office for assistance.
