Youth Programs

Boys & Girls Club of the Foothills

Dedicated, trained staff and volunteers offer programs in physical recreation, technology, the arts, personal growth and more. The clubs create a safe, supportive environment where children and youth experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life.

Alberta Youth Entrepreneurship Camp
Provided through: Community Futures Highwood

AYEC is a week-long camp for youth ages 13-15. It is normally held in mid to late August for youth who are interested in learning about business and entrepreneurship. The main focus of this camp is to educate youth about team work, marketing, advertising, preparing a cash-flow statement and writing a business plan.

Students must complete an essay about entrepreneurship (4 simple questions answered on the application form fill the essay requirement). This is an application to access one of a limited number of $550 locally sponsored scholarships to pay for the camp. Students should contact their school offices after April 1 about applications or contact their nearest Community Futures office.

For more information about the camp go to the AYEC website.
